The pick up transfer is only from centrally located hotels. If your hotel is outside the geographic area, we will confirm the closest meeting point. Indicate the name and address of your hotel.

After hotel pickup in Ushuaia, travel to Paso Garibaldi, a mountain pass that cuts across Patagonia's Southern Andes. Drive across the Feugian Cordillera and enjoy a spectacular view of Lake Escondido, stopping at a lookout to admire this 'hidden lake.' Take in the views of the unspoiled Lake Fagnano as well.

Descend into Lago Escondido in your 4x4 vehicle with an adventure guide. Off-road among the trees in the Feugian forest, follow ancient woodcutter trails, reaching places that are impossible to reach without a 4x4.

Take in the stunning views of Lake Fagnano and then take an internal route that leads to Lake Escondido.

Listen to an introductory talk from your guide, then hop into a canoe to start paddling across the lake.

Head to Refugio de Tierra Mayor for a lakeside barbecue lunch of prime beefsteaks, choripan (traditional Argentine sausage sandwich), salad, Malbec wine, and dessert. Request a vegetarian meal ahead of time if you wish.

After a full meal and a full day of adventure, you're returned to your Ushuaia hotel.
Stop At:
Paso Garibaldi
In the morning, we will leave from the hotel to take the famous route 3 that runs through part of the Cordillera Fueguina, which allows us to access to the Paso Garibaldi. From here, we will see Escondido and Fagnano Lake.
Duration: 15 minutes
Admission Ticket Free
Stop At:
Lago Fagnano
We will start the descent, leaving the conventional route to follow the old tracks of the woodcutters. The 4x4 trucks will help us with this expedition, reaching places where access would be impossible otherwise. We will cross forests, following paths of mud, stones, and overcoming different challenges in our way. Finally, we will arrive at Fagnano Lake, which will surprise us with its size and the incredible landscape that surrounds it. We will make a stop at that lake where we will enjoy a delicious local asado. While the guides prepare lunch, we can make a walk around the area to explore the forest and the beavers that are part of the local landscape nowadays.

Stop At:
Lago Escondido
After lunch, we will continue with this adventure but this time using a route to get to Escondido Lake. This lake is smaller than the other but it will still surprise us with its unique natural environment. If we choose this tour during the summer, we can go canoeing on the Escondido Lake. First we will have an introductory talk with our guides, prepare the canoes and finally paddle around the lake. We will enjoy the area landscape in a different way. After canoeing for 45 minutes, we will return to the point where the vans were left to return to Ushuaia along National Route 3. But if you choose it during the winter, we will have lunch in a winter shelter and while it is being prepared, we can walk around or have fun on the sledding track. After lunch, we will visit the Tierra Mayor Winter Center, where we will have time to explore the area and make extra activities such as snowmobiles, husky sleds, skiing or ice-skating. Also, if you wish, you can stay in the warm hosteria contemplating the incredible Nevado Valley. After having fun at the winter center, we will return to our vehicles to get back to Ushuaia.

Our guide Freddy was fantastic! He was friendly, informed, and made sure we were all comfortable and enjoying the experience. I would highly recommend this excursion.

Fantastic 4WD crazy ride, beautiful forest, then canoeing on the Hidden Lake. Insanely great lunch, asado/barbecue with good Malbec wine. Visiting husky dogs. Matias, excellent driver, all the guys were friendly and fun.

This trip was everything i wanted it to be & guide Freddy worked hard to ensure we all enjoyed it. Beautiful scenery of lakes, woodland & beaches. Freddy very informative about the natural landscape. Lunch in a cabin was very good...much better than i expected...and the wine flowed (what a lovely touch!) We were also provided with hot drinks and snacks on the way. I wanted to see something of Tierra del Fuego and this trip fulfilled that!
    Not much 4x4

IA nice day out but mostly on the main road ie not much 4x4 stuff. Main activities finished at 12.45 leaving 1 hr to get back on Route 3 and 2 hrs for a quite reasonable lunch thus making it a "day' trip. Guide was great but wish he hadn't played 70s rock music so loudly during the entire journey, making conversation difficult and being something of a distraction from the pristine country all around.

My daughter and I took this tour before going on a cruise to Antarctica, and it was fantastic! We were with a family from Colombia and had a really fun time. We were taken to beautiful spots, went canoeing, and had the excitement of driving into a lake after walking along its rocky shore. We ate a late lunch in a setting we will never forget. We're vegetarians and thought we would probably get a cheese sandwich, but our hot meal was creative and delicious. We were really impressed. I want to add that I am 70 years old and did not feel that the ride was too rough. I also do not speak Spanish, but the guide spoke perfect English and described what we were seeing in both Spanish and English. He was both informative and amusing. I would recommend this tour to anyone who wanted a fun and exciting off-the-beaten-track day tour of Tierra del Fuego.

4x4 part and the lunch were very good. Unfortunately too much wind to go out canoeing.... limited visibility on the first row behind the driver. Spectacualar drives through water. Unbelivable what a Hilux can do !

It was a very nice day and we saw lots of beautiful scenery. The lunch was wonderful, as advertised. BUT we were not ever in the National Park and that was part of the advertised itinerary. Our group was made up of 3 English speaking people and 5 Spanish speaking people. The guide would talk in Spanish for 10 or more minutes and then give 2 or 3 minutes in English. He answered our questions but the running commentary was obviously not even close to being fairly divided.. Also, we were taken canoeing which was not part of the advertised itinerary...maybe a treat for the younger folks but the older people were not interested.
