The Basics

Sitting close to Ushuaia, the park is a popular destination for a day trip. A typical guided tour of the park might include a ride on the End of the World train, guided hike through the forest, canoe trip on Lapataia Bay, or a 4WD tour of the park’s natural wonders. Multi-day itineraries in the area often include Tierra del Fuego, and a Beagle Channel sightseeing cruise and time to explore the town of Ushuaia.

Rafting and Major Hike - Great Workout
The excursion was as described. We travelled to the national park and began with paddling in rafts (not canoes) through a small lake and river area. The gear was good and they had rubber boots for us. An excellent lunch was served. We then hiked through the mountains to a summit from which we could see the Beagle Channel and surrounding mountains. We were given a choice of trails and our group choose a more strenuous one with better views. Our guide, Daniel, was excellent, pointing out information about the trees, flora and fauna.

Ushuaia Shore Excursion: Private Tour of Tierra del Fuego National Park
Our tour guide was fantastic. This guy had a wealth of information and was keen on sharing it. Tierra del Fuego National Park is breathtaking. Try to avoid the bus loads of people by taking a few of the small trails where cars can't go. I do think that next time we would opt for adding an activity to our tour, as in kayaking. The town of Ushuaia itself was cute, but did not offer much. I do wish we had more time to explore the museums.

Tierra del Fuego National Park Half-Day Tour with Optional End of the World Train Ride
Most importantly, the tour was actually 8:15-1:45ish, which made it very tight getting back on our cruise ship in time. Also, confusing as to time we were being picked up. Viator is not the trip operator, and its difficult to get operator to respond. Actual tour itself was nice. Train ride fun.

Half day excursion to the Tierra del Fuego National Park
Having lived in Alaska and Panama and been familiar with parts of the Pan-American highway it was particularly meaningful to us to be at the southern terminis of the Pan-American highway and the "end of the world". The part of the national park that we were able to see was beautiful and we were glad we got to experience it. Our guide, Andre was very informative and interesting about Ushuaia and surrounding areas. Great trip - highly recommend.

Tierra del Fuego National Park Half-Day Tour with Optional End of the World Train Ride
Train ride is fun. There is an audio tape that plays whilst you travel the short line. Gives an extensive history of the train, prison and the settlement of the area. our guide spoke in Spanish and English. She was well informed and brought numerous insight about the park and it’s inhabitants.

Ushuaia Shore Excursion: Private Tour of Tierra del Fuego National Park
This was a highlight tour for us. We were picked up on time from the port. The guide had a comfortable vehicle to ride to the Tierra del Fuego National Park. The guide was very knowledgable about the history, culture, and the biology of the area. He shared his knowledge in an informative and interesting manner. We love to take pictures and he was very willing to stop at scenic areas and help us with our photographs. We would highly recommend this tour.

Ushuaia Shore Excursion: Private Tour of Tierra del Fuego National Park
Luciano, our tour guide did a wonderful job. He got us to stops before all the tour buses, and so it was never crowded. He was also able to take us to spots where the buses couldn’t go. A great tour!
