This beautiful excursion mixes between nature and mysticism that represents the boundary between three cultures, those of the Yámana, canoe Indians of the Beagle Channel, the Haush culture, hunter Indians from the East, and the western culture that lived with them as first settlers. , as was the Bridges family. You can enjoy the experience with a trekking to one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the area, meet the confluence of bays, birds and native vegetation, and after the zen moment enjoy a delicious country snack made by yourself! As if this were not enough, you will also taste a delicious barbecue with grilled vegetables, in the midst of this beautiful environment that will make you excited and remember it for a lifetime.

Ushuaia: Beagle Channel Navigation to the Pingüinera and walk between Pinguinos

Ushuaia: Beagle Channel Navigation to the Pingüinera and walk between Pinguinos

Being the meeting point, our offices in the tourist pier of Ushuaia, we go in our modern minibuses in a northeast direction along the National 3 & J routes, on the way to the legendary Harberton Ranch, always accompanied by our specialized guides providing the best information and evacuating any questions that may arise. We sail from the Harberton pier to Martillo Island, a 15-minute ride, in a semi-rigid boat (ship suitable for navigation in the area). On the island, we will walk for 1 hour between Papuan and Magellanic penguins, always with a guide, experiencing a unique adventure. Penguins settle on the island during the summer, sharing their habitat with other birds, such as skuas (their main predator), petrels, cormorants, vultures, and South American terns. Isla Martillo, in the Beagle Channel, is part of Estancia Harberton, and home to the penguins Magellanic (Spheniscus magellanicus).

Ushuaia: Gable Island and Penguin Colony Experience with Canoes

Ushuaia: Gable Island and Penguin Colony Experience with Canoes

star-4

Once on the Lasiphashaj River, preparations will begin to paddle inflatable canoes down the river and the Beagle Channel. Rubber boots, trouser covers and life jackets will be used to paddle downstream and through the sea. Already in the Beagle Channel, the wildlife of the place will be appreciated: a variety of seabirds and it is also possible that sea lions are sighted. Once the paddle is finished and the hull of Estancia Harberton is reached, a motor boat will be taken in the direction of Martillo Island. From the boat you can see penguins at their breeding site. The motorboat navigation then continues to the main attraction of the day: the huge Gable Island, where lunch awaits us with a good Patagonian wine, soda and mineral water. After a coffee, start the walk to explore this wonderful island. After about two hours of walking, you return to Puerto Harberton by zodiac, to take the bus to Ushuaia.
