The Basics

Upsala Glacier is only accessible by taking a boat trip on the milky blue waters of Lake Argentino. Most glacier cruises allow visitors firsthand views of both Upsala and Spegazzini glaciers, and countless icebergs. Those with more time to spare can see the glacier as part of a multi-day tour of Los Glaciares National Park (along with Huyliche Hill and Perito Moreno Glacier) or greater Patagonia.

We were fortunate with no wind and hence a calm lake. Otherwise the 3 hour boat trip to Estancia Cristina would have been rough. A good experience overall.

What a great tour... different than Perito Mereno for sure. Would have liked to get closer to the glacier on the boat, but walking up the hill and seeing the top of it with the clear, blue lake was amazing and made this a great tour. So cold at the top and windy - but the views were gorgeous! The 4x4 ride was so interesting - and not what I was expecting but was better... crawled up the high mountain to the camp base for the glacier... Long day... but great time!

Everything was qiute organized. Knowledgable guides. There was quite an emphasis on the expensive Restaurant. Impressive laguna. it is worth a trip, however it is difficult to justify the price - though other companies ask for even a higher rate.

We were picked up at our hotel on time. The boat trip to Estancia Cristina was spectacular. The Off road trip to see the Upsala Glacier was the best part of the package and an incredible experience! The hiking is not strenuous and very doable. The guides were very friendly, helpful and informative. You may want to pack light snacks for the boat trip. You can get a lunch at the Estancia Cristina Restaurant.

Amazing! It is a bit pricey but so worth it! Caution - the lake is rough! Estancia Cristina - bring packed lunch (lunch tho fab costs ARS600) All guides were awesome! Views were out of the world! You get the lake, mountains, icebergs, fields and the glacier (awesome if u choose 4WD).

A much better day that I originally expected. Awesome scenery and great guide. A long day but it is not boring at all. Plenty of options to choose from.

Very professional tour but could have benefited from a guide with better English. It's a long day but well worth the time as the views of the glaciers and the ice falls are great. The hike up to the falls was ok but the falls themselves nothing special

The nicest part was the walk of 15 minutes to the Upsale Glacier and the 4x4 ride. It was too long the Museum visit and explanation as well as the Chapel visit at the Estancia. The food at the Estancia was not very good. We did not eat lamb so could not try the cordero. Pasta was ok, not special and the empanadas the meat inside smelled too strong. We thought it was lamb. We should have more time after the 4x4 ride, it's the best part.

Fantastic tour. Views were amazing, guide was fantastic. Tour went like clockwork. Snacks offered on boat to and from ranch, but will either need to bring your own lunch or pay for lunch at ranch. Lunch is huge and two people can share. Pick-up/drop off from hotel included. Is FULL DAY--pick up before 8 AM and drop off was at about 9 PM so plan accordingly. A must-do.

Great experience. Seeing floating icebergs was crazy and the historic ranch was so interesting. Be prepared for very cold wind and rain so pack a hat and rain poncho. Do the discovery tour over classic. The ride in the 4x4 gave us a break from the weather and the views from above were the highlight of the trip. The reason I'm not giving it a five is because there was so much travel time involved getting to the glacier that I wasn't expecting. l it was a total of more than 6 hours on bus and boat round trip but there is no other way to see this amazing glacier! Everything was planned very well and efficient and guides were knowledgeable. It's was a long 12-13 hour day for us so bring snacks and water. Would definitely do again.
